Hi! Mari here, pronounced “Mah-ree.”
In photographing, I believe in creating a warm, open environment for creativity, connecting with my subjects, and most of all, to have fun.
I’m originally from Tokyo, Japan, and moved to the states when I was six years old. I grew up in the northern Chicago suburbs, and caught the photo bug during high school. It wasn’t until college, though, that I started pursuing it further. After college, I moved to NYC and the rest is history.
My work has been seen on: New York Times, Playbill.com, Forbes, Time Out New York, BroadwayWorld, Rolling Stone India, among others.
